Not Meant To Be

Went to the doctor yesterday for my 4 week appointment. I was hoping that would be the day I could start biking again. Nope, 2 more weeks, possibly 3! This pretty much shitcans the road season for me. I'll still ride and get my ass handed to me in races, but I have an excuse! There are some great fall mountain bike races that I think I will put my focus on. Well that and my family...brownie points (I know Jen reads this).
So I really don't have much more to say so as always,

You're Outta Here...Pete...we miss you

So the sad cycle continues...employees come and employees go. It's sad when those that have been around for several year, like 6, leave. They are the good ones that don't get replaced over night. Recently, Pete celebrated his last night with us. And what better way to send him off than too much beer, and oh yeah...a kick ass mohawk. Luby, you got nothin on us! Enjoy the pic's. Mmm...I think I have had a few too many beers. But Ben is still drinking so I will too. (Ahh, you rookie)
Now that is an "Elmers" Mohawk.
I Love you man. No, I love you. Blah, blah, blah...

Oooh...Aaaah...

Yep...I got the day off and spent a lot of it figuring out blogger. I should be smarter than I am with computers but I have my wife set as "default" so she helps me out a lot...and not just with the computer but: spelling, my laundry, dressing myself, etc.!
So I gave the site a new image, much easier than doing the same to myself. I added the links I check out on a regular basis. So, let me know what you think and I hope to keep ya all happy or pissed the hell off...no middle ground.
Over.

Twitching...if that is the correct spelling?

Oh my God...and there goes my middle school librarian turning in her grave...again (she hated when I said "God" in a text other than the bible, but then what do you expect from a Catholic school with a librarian older than dirt...funny, now she is with dirt. Who will see me in hell?)
Now what in the hell was my point? Honestly, I have no freaking clue, cause since I typed the first few sentences I have cooked dinner, rocked a baby, cleaned the kitchen, and taken a pee or two.
I think I wanted to relate to how nice it has been the last few days and I am itching big time to get out on the bike. Not so much to ''train", although that is apart of me now, but to, well "just ride". I want to pull Brinna in the Burley, I want to bike to work, I want to be able to mow my yard and not ask my dad for help, I want to be able to go to Avery in the night when she is crying, etc. Two more weeks and I am free...oh how I hope that is the case.
Oh...and I wanted to say, HELP! Yeah...all of you punks that live in the St. Cloud area and take advantage of the local trails, we need you. Yep, we are building and maintaining trails agian, or more specifically the North loop. You al know where it is and if you have been on any of the trails, legal or not, someone...yes someone has been helping to keeping them alive. We need help, so every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. we will be meeting at the trail head to build and upkeep existing trail. We have a race in September to showcase our work so please help us, and skip your training ride...honestly you won't die or lose the next race. O.K. you may gain 1/8 of a lb.

I Need A Sidi (left only) Size 61.5...

The beauty of digital cameras...pictures stay in for ever. This one is from Hawaii this past October, I don't think I ever looked at the pictures from that trip. It has nothing to do with this blog but I think I would rather be there than here right now. The picture below does deal with the point of this blog. I am ready to get back on the bike again. Hell, I wish I could just mow my own yard. One would think that not being able to bike would force good eating habits etc. Not me! I have been eating poorly, drinking too much, and watching a lot of t.v. Or, feeling sorry for myself. Time to get out of this funk. So I guess that means salads and sit-ups. I am not too sure about 1 legged biking. Maybe if Sidi made a shoe for my cast or maybe I could drill a cleat to it...mmmmm.

What Else Would It Be? Its A Girl!

Why would we have anything else besides a girl. The women: my wife, two daughters, a bitch dog...then there is me, I ain't diggin them odds! Avery Kate Doom was born May 3rd at 10:17am. She was 7.4lbs and 19". Those are answers to questions I get a lot. Below are some pic's for you all to enjoy. Say a prayer for my wife, as she has to do this all alone as I am still on crutches!
Here Brinna is holding baby Avery.

Baby Avery, Brinna, and Mima.

Seconds after Avery was born. Mom looks like it was easy! Great Job!

Proud Dad...who's nose does she have?

The Doc.

Hope you enjoyed. Hope to see some of you on Saturday at the Avon Lumber One Road Race.

Look for the most hideous truck and that's what I'll be driving. I'll post a pic later.

Out.

WTF?

My left foot has been giving me some grief for the last few weeks. Nothing serious and assumed it was my new shoes. Cycling has not bothered my feet so have been switcing the shoes I wear at work, home, etc. Sunday night I stood up to get some water, heard a snap, and fell down like a folding chair...stole that line from Lance or Williams.
Went to the Doctor today and turns out I have a fracture in my foot. Damn. 4 weeks in a walking cast, no cycling, and crutches for a week.
For some reason I am not freakin out...yet. The good is I will be home more with my wife, daughter, and daughter to be. And I will not "burn out" on cycling as soon, or so I hope. The bad is I will lose 4 weeks of fitness and training. There is not much I can do without putting some weight on my foot and the doc said that is a "no-no".
So here's to a happy freakin May.
Out.
