And the Search Goes On...

It's been a little over a week since ONAG died and I am still without a job. I met with a couple bike shops, but wonder if that is what I really want to do. I was up in Bemidji over the weekend, hanging out with some friends. They are all teachers and spent the weekend telling me I should be one too. Mmmmm? Well, I'm procrastinating doing the resume thing. K&K are home and want to ride. Jen said I can't ride till I do my resume, so that's what I'm gonna do. Just like being in grade school, "no tv till your homework is done".

Another One Bites the Dust

Yep, the sign tells the truth. Out-N-About Gear has closed the doors for the last time on Sunday June 18th. This was in shock to everyone, including the employees. Having spent 13 years of my life at ONAG I had a lot of shit to clear out. I'm sure I left lots behind...but looking around my house I most likley don't need it. I think I could start my own little shop from my house, I have a lot of bike shit, good stuff too.

I filed for unemployment for the first time on Monday. It takes a couple weeks, so hopefully I won't need it, but just in case... So many people have been so cool. I have received so many phone calls wishing me good luck, jobs to check out, and even some offers. Damn, it's only been a few days!

I almost forgot! I took my first ride on Monday. It felt great. I also did about 40 miles on Tuesday. I think today will be yard work and laundry day. Having been in a cast for 7 weeks there has been some neglect to my yard.

Last night my daughter, Brinna, and I slept in a tent in the backyard. It was Brinna's first time and she loved it. Between the sun coming up around 5 am, the recycling and garbage trucks coming at 6 am, and 10,000 birds going crazy I can't believe we got any sleep.

Good 'ol Casserole

Screw it! I tried several times to upload some pictures of Brinna's birthday, but they just never showed up or would show up in triple form. So no pic's today. I went to the doctor today for my 6 week appointment. I have one more week with my cast, damn. I guess when a fracture heals the body deposits calcium near the break to make it stronger. My body has done about 80% and the rest is some fiberous material. Meaning not strong. Chances are I could go out and ride, but I don't want to start from the begining, so I will wait. I have to go back in to get another x-ray in six weeks. If the fiberous material is still there I may have to get pins! What? I just want to freakin ride.

Uh...I'm Sick

It's sunny, yet again. Skip work and go ride. I'm still in a cast so I'll cover for ya. Next Tuesday is yet another doctor appointment. Here's to hoping the boot comes off!
