Back from the dentist, always a good time. I need two crowns! Fucking sweet. Even with pretty good dental insurance it's going to cost me about $850! I opted for gold, can't use silver, and porcelain cost more and I want the bling factor. Not to mention if times get tough I can chisel the gold out and bring to a pawn shop.
I cannot bring myself to the basement and ride the trainer. Just not feeling it this morning. Back to the the gym, they have more options and a sauna.

Oops.
I spoke too soon. Maybe ski season isn't over...shit. Reports vary, but seems we will be getting snow the next couple of days...4"-15", depending where you look...again, shit.
My new bike came in, but looks it won't get outside this week...shit.
I do have something to look forward to, however. I go to the dentist tomorrow morning at 7! I cracked a tooth pretty good. I'm sure it will be capped, crowned, or whatever it is they do. There goes my $$ for the Garmin Edge 705...shit. Gold or silver?

Now it is official...ski season is over.
Yesterday marked the official end of the xc ski season. We put the skis away at the shop and started to fill the space with triathlon stuff. Last night we had the groomers recognition meal. It was a pretty good time. I took a big whiff of the Tripple Trubble beer that Mr. Laumb brewed up. It sure did smell good, no need to taste!
Villanova beat Pitt in a last second shot. March Madness rules. My team, Oklahoma, plays today against UNC. I like UNC more but guess I should cheer for OK.
I initially planned on riding this morning but did not want to get all bundled up. Went to the gym instead. The long term forecast isn't looking too good for outside riding. Maybe I just need to grow a pair.

First Race on The Schedule
Ah shit...I got into Chequamegon. The race to love and hate. As far as mountain biking goes it blows ass. Riding in grass for 30 of 40 miles is not my idea of fun. But if you live in the Midwest you blow your wad if you get in. Time to toss off.
The good news is a lot of friends and members of Revo got in! We should have a great time together.
Jeffro
Bryon
Sheila
Me
Mike
Charlie...not sure what color he bleeds!
Kyia
SWEET.
NCAA basketball is great tonight. Villanova is working Duke over. Anytime Duke loses it's a good game. Hopefully I didn't just jinx them.
Picked up a movie tonight for the trainer tomorrow morning. A real good quality flick, Sniper 3. Good shit.

Stuff
Still sick put prepared. Stopped on the way to work and picked up some Puffs Plus (has lotion) and two quarts of Gatorade G2. Fluids are the key. My nose is raw from using toilet paper all day yesterday at work. Ones ass must be stronger than ones nose.
I was all excited to watch some NCAA BB but Jen is going to the cities to watch Tech take on the Powerhouse...Hopkins. Hopefully Tech wins but most are doubtful. So I have the kids tonight and Brinna has gymnastics. She loves it but is real shy when it starts, tonight is the first night. She says she doesn't want to go. I don't want to force her, but I grew up (well still am) being shy and hate it. I hope if she goes she will come out of her shell some. Maybe I'll bribe her with DQ.
Today or tomorrow my new ride is suppose to show up! If I get time to build it and the weather cooperates, I hope to take it out this Sunday before work. Time to put the Pacer aside...not away but aside.
Boring blog...sorry.

No bitching allowed...except by ME.
I realize that a lot of blogging is bitching about something...I am good at bitching.
If you are MILF but have no control over your kids, you're no longer a MILF. No matter how tight your jeans are or how they hug your ass so tight that we can see the small fold from ass cheek to leg...you're now ugly. Control your damn kids.
Neck pain is gone but tweaked my lower back at the gym squatting 750lbs! Whatever.
I have been pretty much sick free all winter, now I have a good head cold.
I love rain, but not cold. Enough already. I had to ride the trainer this morning for 2 hours. Transporter 3 helped to pass the time.
I am tired...usually I don't get tired.
Just like that we are freakin swamped at work. The repairs just keep coming it. I have stuff to enter, price, and get on the floor from last week still...shit. But this is a good thing.
Despite being an optimist it looks like E will be leaving us after summer. SCSU sucks.
People that pimp you for information on what parts to get then buy it on EBAY and have you install it are clueless and pretty much a dick.
To the gym and work to get down and dirty.

Strike Three
Three visits, over $100 in copay, and my neck still is fubared. I was hoping to get out and ride this morning. My neck felt great all day yesterday, then I slept on it and shit hit the fan.
Despite being all women and close to work I think I may switch to Jen's chiropractor, who is a dude. He does sports, so he understands sports, and is a huge advocate of the shop. The chiropractor that I see seems to be so busy all the time she never has time to talk or ask questions. She barely looks me in the eyes. This could be my fault. I mean, I do have my shirt of and well...the rest is history! In three visits I think she has been in the room 5 minutes total.
She's out, Varner is in.

Silver Lining
One good thing with having a bad back...
It's no problem getting up early. If that is a good thing. I'm saying it is, it makes me feel better.
I have another chiropractic appointment this morning. My fingers are crossed.
NCAA basketball madness starts today. I am a big fan, well in March anyway. Too bad we don't have cable at work...or that's a good thing.
Tonight I am going to Tech's BB game. I think if they win they go to state...such a fan.

Report
Well, I went to the chiropractor this afternoon. I can't stand it when people crack their knuckles, so I don't really enjoy getting realigned or back rubs. I do feel better however. The position that still hurts is the one my neck needs to be when I ride a bike. I think I may start looking into recumbents.
I went to the gym after, probably shouldn't have, but I wanted to do something.
Hopefully I can ride this weekend...and the wind dies down.

Shit
I think I am having sympathy pains. Evel suffers from chronic neck and back pain...something about is wife! Anyway, my neck has been feeling funny since FL. The few long rides I have done have made it worse, but manageable. About 4 this morning I rolled over and heard something, or felt something, in my lower neck. Now it really hurts. Ugh. I go in, to the clinic specializing in women and children, today at 1:00.
This is the last week of short work days and the shop too. Today is mine and I hoped to get some hours in on the bike. That is not looking so good. Oh well, maybe now I will put the clothes from FL away.
Later.
It sucks getting old. What happens at 40?

Morning Ride
After Jen and the girls got out the door this morning, I jumped into the cycling gear and was out the door too. It was a nice morning with minimal wind, got about 2.5 hours in.
This year I am making it a priority to wear sunglasses most of the time. I have not worn sunglasses in the past. I sweat a lot and sweat on the lenses drives me nuts. I picked up a pair of the Smith V-Ti's and love them so far. Summer is not here so the true test is to come. My fingers are crossed.
I think it may be time for some new bar tape. I am getting sick of the pink. I will have to look at the color options today.
Off to the gym for a quick leg workout and off to work.

Back in the Saddle
I was asked if I wanted to ride today. Being off the bike, and pretty much out of exercises for a week, I was all for it. But 4 hours was a bit much. Actually, I felt pretty good. The neck got soar and the legs are now tired but that's about it.
While on vacation I had plans of doing some exercises but I am on vacation and wanted to enjoy it. I did a lot of swimming with the girls, pulled the girls in a trailer (all over), and did a lot of walking...but that was it and I was fine with that. Enjoy what you have.
Lance was on the ride, so of course, we had to hit some "grav".

Vacation...It's Over.
We're back from vacation. It seems like we were gone forever. I was ready to come home. I had a blast but I live for routine and I am ready to get back into one. This was our fourth year going to Sanibel, FL (an island off Fort Myers). This year we had the best weather yet. Mid 80's, sun (no clouds), light breeze, and cool evenings...couldn't have asked for anything more. We even missed the snow and sub-zero weather back in MN!
This was also my first year not drinking. I have to be honest and say it was a lot harder than I anticipated. Not that I had to fight off the urge to drink but that I was constantly reminded of situations when I normally would drink or something seemed to always bring my attention back to drinking and that I can not do it...ever again. It's that "ever again" part that is weird to me, or hard for me to grasp and accept. But it was fine and the trip was so much better, for everyone, without me drinking. I sure did drink a lot of Pepsi Max as a fill in...good stuff.
Below are some pictures from the trip in no particular order.
It's very popular to go "shelling" in Sanibel. Brinna loved it too and has the loot to prove it.
Me out looking for shells during the low tide. The wildlife or sea life was amazing this year. We found many shells with "things" still living in them. Lots of Sting Rays swimming past you...I guess if you step on one it really hurts. I didn't find out.

Brinna learned how to play UNO and loves it. You may notice I have my fingernails painted, compliments of Brinna. I have a huge Adam's Apple!

We probably spent the most time in the pool. Both Brinna and Avery achieved so much in the water from the first day to the last, it was amazing to watch.

Today it's suppose to get up to the mid 40's. Not 80 degrees but better than sub-zero. I hope to sneak in a ride, do lots of laundry, and get back to a routine this weekend.
I am very grateful for the crew at Revolution working extra to allow my vacation to happen. Thanks!

Afternoon
On my way home from work today, (worked the short shift). I went by SportClips, did a U-turn and walked on in. With the recent closing of Hooters, I was hoping a lot of the work went over to SportClips. Not the case. SportClips is a hair salon for men, based on a sports theme. I suck at getting my hair cut. Usually my mom or I cut my hair, so I never know what to tell them. I am still trying to let my hair grow out so I said just trim it up a bit. Since it was my first time they gave me the MVP upgrade for free. So I got a cut, shampoo, scalp massage, hot towel on my face, face massage, massage chair, back rub, and a style of sorts. Not bad for $14, I think. I got to watch Sport Center and get a haircut at the same time, sweet.
After the haircut Kyia and I went skiing for what we both hope will be the last time. The skiing was not too bad but we are ready for two wheels and warmer weather. The trails are disappearing and with the warmer weather this week they will be in rough shape without some more snow.
Thanks to all you gave advice on the Garmin Edge purchase. I still don't know. It's a lot of money and Jen is hooked on that, well, so am I. I now believe I will use it, but does that warrant $400?
Tonight I am packing for Florida. In just two days I will be in 80 degree weather for a whole week!

Should I?

Recently I sold my Salsa Mamasita and am now sitting on a wad of cash. I am actually going to be a good little boy and bank most of the money but have given myself permission to have a bit of fun. I like the idea of a Garmin Edge 705 GPS unit but am wondering if I will "really" use it and if it will be worth the large price tag. Hmmm...what do you think?

Dirty

Is it wrong to find these girls hot or that I refer to these caricatures as girls?
Is Hook-Ups even around anymore?
I used to have a Hook-Ups t-shirts. Yeah, I was a poser...I can't skate for shit.
I'm taking a quick brake from wading through the piles of preseason orders. It would be so much easier if I knew we were going to get snow next year.
I waxed my skis yesterday in anticipation of going out skiing today. With the cold temps and my lack of ambition I didn't make it. I ended up at the gym and hopefully on the trainer tonight. Yeah, I'd rather ride inside than ski outside. What's wrong with me?
Later.
