Money sucks, and like the cliche, "when it rains it pours". This past week we got slammed with lots of bills. All the Christmas shit came due, we bought new windows for the house, Target is still open, new contacts and eye appointment, same 'ol bills still exist (like mortgage), and now the Subaru has a cracked head gasket. That'll be $1400 thank you very much. Sweet. Oh yeah, we are still using a borrowed computer too.
Ah, such is life (another cliche). Honestly, it doesn't bother me too much. What bothers me is how it bothers Jen. So with that I think it is time to take drastic measures. Anyone want to buy a testicle? I heard you can get $20K. I don't need them anymore! I have a college degree, not too ugly, and take reasonably good care of my body. Does St. Cloud have a sperm donor program?!
On the riding side of things I got about 2.5 hours on the trainer yesterday morning. I refused to turn the fan on to help "sweat" my cold out. I think it may have worked. I sure left a pile of sweat on the floor. I watched "Hurt Locker". It was a pretty good flick. I would watch it again. I would like to watch it not on the trainer. It was not as action packed as I thought it was, but my attention was held the whole time.
XC ski reports are trickling in and they all sound great. I will need to get out soon to see for myself. I hope to take Zoe snowshoeing tonight. Even with the excitement of the new snow I hope it starts to melt fast next month.
My first race/event of the season is at the end of the month in Des Moines, IA. 100k of early season gravel. Game on.
Later.

I had the same thing on my old subaru....gasket and then I burnt all the valves or some shit. $3300. I like your price better.

Yeah, feeling the Christmas pinch too. Maybe we should go do some crimes!

The bad thing about the head gasket is that it only cost like $50 for the actual gasket but apparently it takes about 3 days and a PhD to replace it. I feel for you, I replaced one last year $$$$$!
I hear ya on the money issue! apparently when it is raining on the west coast and the rest of the country is under snow, no one wants to get there suspension repaired.
shit, I will try to repair your Subaru for half the cost, my shop does have a garage door, And I can't guarantee anything? actually I would just through some stop leak in it and call it a day.
