I'm suffering from separation anxiety. During course setup on Sunday I lost my beloved BenchMade knife...ugh. I've been made fun of for always having a knife but it has come in handy so many times, I miss my knife. I lost it once before hauling branches from our backyard to the truck. I found it clipped to a branch in the truck! No such dumb luck this time. I looked that day but didn't find it. I went out night mtb riding last night and made a few passes through the park, again no luck. I just hope that some dope smoking, Frisbee tossing hippie didn't find it.
I purchases it through work so I got a deal on it. The place no longer carries BenchMade. I searched eBay and almost fell off my chair at the prices. Damn.
Switching gears. The North Loop is in absolute awesome shape! The corners are burmmed (sp?), the rough spots have been smoothed out, and traction is great. I rode for about 2 hours, half in daylight and half with the lights turned on. Fun stuff.
I've decided that my "big" event for next spring/summer will be Trans Iowa, if I get in. It's at the end of April. Uses mostly, if not all, gravel roads, covering over 300 miles. My fingers are crossed.
Time to wake the kids, send them off, and hit the gravel.
Later.
