Not so good at blogging this week. I have my reasons.
Recap.
Monday Night three of us, (Jeff, Ted, and I) did a night ride. The trail was a bit slick from the freezing rain and dusting of snow. We all own Pugsley's but I was the only one riding a Pug. It was a good choice. It was the first real night experiencing "cold". When my big toe started to warm up at home I was reminded of Charlie and the screaming barfies. Ended up with two hours.
Tuesday I had a doctor appointment so I had an extended gym visit. Weights and elliptical. Real exciting.
Wednesday I hopped back on the Pugs and headed to Plumb Creek/River Bluff Trails. Did a bit of exploring too. Back to the North Loop then home with 3 hours in. I was hoping the predicted snow would have started on my ride, but it wasn't to be. Next time. I used a borrowed pair of pogies from Brian. I have a set of bike specific pogies and they work well. Having frost bit my fingers a couple of times they are very cold sensitive. The pogies I borrowed are from Cabellas and are for ATV's. They cost about $30 and rock. I'm sold.
Thursday I had originally wanted to do a long gravel ride. But the snow that was predicted did come, not all of it but enough, and the cold/wind mixture made the decision to ride the Pugs again an easy one. I shortened the ride to two hours thinking I would hit the gym up later. I was dressed pretty well for single digit temps, not too sure on the windchill. I am playing around with my foot apparel so the toes got a bit cold but not too bad. I have a pretty good idea of what I need to do for the Arrowhead. Back home we did a bit of cleaning then we headed to the gym. We thought they were open till 3 but it was 2. The kids and I jumped rope, ran killers, and played dodge ball while Jen ran. No weights but that's probably for the best.
I thought I might sneak a ride in on Friday but our departure time is early morning. I may venture outside for a knee killing run!
Later.

Tiss the season for the Barfees!
I recently bought a pair of Bar Mitts for my cyclocross. Tried them today. Nice addition for keeping hands warmer and free from road debris, snow, mist, etc. $45
