Finally.

Yesterday was rain free! Not a perfect day, but the pavement was dry, I'll take it. Worked the short shift yesterday too, 9-noon. Everyone in my family is elsewhere so I planned on a ride. It's kind of nice to be able to do a ride and not have a time that you have to be back home, so as the name of this blog depicts, I just rode.

I felt weird on the bike for a bit. My contacts were getting on the old side of things so my vision was bugging me, I felt like I could have fallen asleep if I closed my eyes, and I was bored. I thought about just doing a short ride but decided to push on. It takes me awhile to get into the groove and feel good. At about 1.5 hours things got better! Well sort of, I lost my right contact and my left one has a little tear in it so the rest of the ride was still "fuzzy"! I didn't get a headache as I suspected but any focused vision was not happening.
The route went something like this: STC, airport, Duelm, Ronneby, saw a sign for Hillman 10 miles, Buckman, the girls are in Little Falls so thought about saying hi but kept hitting hwy 10, Royalton, Rice, Sartell, Sauk Rapids, and home. 101 miles, 5 hours 20 minutes.

Today I'm heading out early for a 2 hour spin before work. The legs are feeling good. Not sure what the weekend of riding will be. I'm still flying solo but do work. If the trails dry I may hit some dirt but with the amount of rain we've received I'm a bit dubious.

The forecast for this coming Tuesday is looking good! Mostly sunny and just shy of 80 degrees. This will be the second attempt at getting the Summer Solstice 100 Ride in. So same info, 4:30 departure from the shop, 100 miles, fast. Fun.

Later.
