Some of the new stuff:
A new company offering the option I'm most intrigued with.
Also new are the builds being offered by both Surly and Salsa. Both will have a build similar to last year and another "higher" end build. Salsa will also be offering titanium version of the Mukluk...awesome. I love my Surly, if they ever offered it in a titanium version (they won't) I'm all over it.
Despite all this new stuff I don't plan on changing too much from my bike of last year. I am adding a carbon White Bro's carbon snow fork in attempts of losing some of the front end weight. I did have a very heavy bike last year. A lot of that weight was from my gear too, or too much of it! I have started that process too.
Not only the bike and gear but I too am going to shed some weight. I don't feel I'm overweight, well for a "cyclist" I am, but I could and should cut down on my lifting and muscle mass. And yes some around the middle should go too! This process started today.
Not too sure why I am all jacked on this event. I am really going to focus on it and put my energy towards it. I am a bit hesitant in doing so, since not achieving my goal will lead to possible disappointment and may take some of the fun away. Despite that I like having goals out there, to give my training a purpose, and just something to shoot for.
So all you fat bike owners sign up for snow events! And any riders out there hesitant about a fat bike...do it, you won't regret it.
Later.

Somebody raced a fatbike at the MB race today, don't know how he did but he must of got one heck of a workout.
If you enjoyed the Arrowhead, ou should consider coming up to Alaska for one of the winter bike races - the White Mountains 100 is a wonderful race for snow bikes, as is Susitna 100 . The Whites 100 is pretty darn awesome - fantastic trails, wonderful (and fast!) people, and nice scenery.
