Damn Fine Weekend.

A bit of a recap first. Saturday morning I ran the North Loop with Luke. Worked. Then headed out for a night gravel ride. A great day.

Sunday morning Chad and I (no Jimmy, still moving) rolled out for some gravel. Bummed it was a NW wind. Not as much "fun" gravel out that way. Well there is but it's a ways out there and we were shooting for 3 hours. The wind was out and out with force. At points we took turns drafting instead of the traditional two a breast. Nonetheless it was a great ride. I haven't ridden too much with Chad lately so it was fun to get out with him for a bit. I kept telling him he needs a Pugsley or Mukluk, since he lives in Bemidji! We'll see.

Somewhat last minute I decided to head up to Cuyuna after the gravel ride. Jen and the girls would not be getting home till late and a slew of friends were meeting up there anyway. I've ridden Cuyuna once before and liked it but this time I loved it. The weather was about 35 degrees cooler and I had an expert guide, Lance (he helped make the trails).
First off, I could not believe how packed the parking lot was. Every spot was taken! Very cool to see. I was a bit worried how busy the trails were, but honestly, they were not a problem at all. Great trail system.
We rode a bit over 3 hours.
Upon finishing we were greeted with a BBQ and all the fixins. It was a blast to hang out after a good ride and just take in the last days of summer.

Monday I took the girls to Panera for breakfast then off to Fairhaven Farms for some Apples. The apples are starting!
I then took off on the Selma for some North Loop time. Put in 2 hours and had one of the best rides I've had at the North Loop. The trail is in the best condition of the year!
I can't get over how fun my Salsa Selma Ti single speed is. I rode this at Cuyuna and the North Loop...just love it.
Made up some ribs, corn, tomato salad, etc for dinner.
What a great holiday weekend.

Today both kids head off to school. Brinna is in 3rd and Avery starts Kindergarten!

What a summer...on to fall, the best season.

Later.
