Too Much?

This past week I got a lot of riding in! I don't follow a training program but pretty much ride when I can. I also do not have a training log (besides this blog) so I really didn't know how much I rode this week till I started counting the hours on my ride yesterday.

Monday: 2 hours. MTB at the North Loop
Tuesday: off
Wednesday: 3 hours 15 minutes. Road bike.
Thursday: 3 hours 40 minutes. MTB at the North Loop.
Friday: 4 hours. Road bike.
Saturday: 4 hours. Road bike.
Sunday: 6 hours 5 minutes. Gravel Bike.

Total: 23 hours.

The good is that my legs felt pretty good on all the rides, for the most part. The ride yesterday they were pretty lethargic at the start but came around. My butt is the most sore!
The bad is that it's (my riding, not my butt) not very structured. I guess for my kind of riding it's ok but I should toss in some intervals or speed work of some kind. But I do this first and foremost for fun. So if I get to "into it" I'm afraid it will feel more like a job and lose some of the fun. Ah, just gonna keep on keeping on.

Yesterday was my Birthday so I was given the green light to ride. Truth be told, Jen is awesome at letting me ride. But I do get up early to ride so I'm not gone the whole day. Yesterday I was out riding by 5:30. I was on the gravel bike this time. I started on the Dirt Bag route but then veered off course and continued to ride south and slowly working my way west. Down by Maple Lake and Buffalo the gravel roads are "hilly", wow. The legs did complain then. I refueled in French Lake and headed home. Most likely rode 1/2 gravel and 1/2 asphalt. 6 hours and 104 miles...a nice birthday.
The girls and I went out to lunch then the grocery store, and back home to do laundry. In between loads I got my toenails and finger nails painted and just chilled. It was a great day with the family.

Time to go shake the kids out of bed.

Later.
