I was a bit worried that I wouldn't be able to sneak in a 100 miler by the end of the month, #teamcrc 100 mile challenge, 12 centuries in 12 months in 2012. Sunday was really my last chance. All week snow was predicted but Sunday morning there was none...sweet. However, the wind was trying it's best to cover for the lack of snow.
I started out heading straight into the wind on cty road 8. I took 8 all the way to Becker, about 20 miles of straight headwind. It was a struggle at times. I was on the All City Nature Boy, single speed. In the open flats I sometimes had to stand and pedal to get my speed back up!
Once in Monticello I was able to skirt the wind a bit more. Worked my way to Buffalo, Rockford, Maple Lake, Fairhaven, St. Augusta, home.
Got in my 100! Speed records were not set. Average speed was 15.3 mph. I was pretty happy that I didn't freak out with the wind. Kept my cool and pushed on...not always the case!
Sounds like our snow event for the year is happening this Tuesday into Wednesday. I don't want snow anymore, but if the amounts they are talking about happen it will be pretty damn fun! I bet the snowmobile trails will open up! OK...let it snow!
Later.

Why didn't you stop in for a feed stop? You will have to do that when you come out our way! Good riding, it was nasty that day. You are officially A Beast.
