Wasn't too sure about getting out for a ride yesterday. The wind was really whipping and the skies were overcast. As go time approached the temps had risen to almost 70 and the skies had cleared. The wind was still going strong, but 2 out of 3 isn't bad.
Got on the bike around 12:45 or so. With my head down and shoulders scrunched I headed south. I could feel the wind shifting to the west so tried to adjust. Heading straight into the wind on open roads really sucked. Crosswinds had me riding at a slant.
Somewhat glad I was not able to to the Tuesday Night Ride. My legs were still pretty tired from Sunday's ride and the efforts I was putting in to make headway into the wind were definitely not easy!
By the time I finished the skies had clouded over and the temp was stuck in the mid 50's. 3 hours 45 minutes of wind! Still go time. Off to gymnastics, then a fundraiser deal (Tech Nordic Ski Team) at Noodles & Co., and finally dance. Both kids were nodding off on the way home. Had I not been driving I would have been doing the same.
Yesterday morning I drug my KettleBell to the gym and did my first "serious" workout with it since purchasing it. Maybe because it's new, but I really like it. My moves and knowledge are very limited but still digging it: hinge at the hips, don't dig your toes in, breathe...
Time to go get the kids ready and start all over...
Out.
