In A Blink of an Eye.

Man, this weekend flew by. We had it jam packed from the get go...so a fast weekend was to be expected.

Friday I did get out for a 4 hour ride. Seems like forever ago. Without pausing and really thinking about, I am unable to remember my route. Ok typing that helped. Rode out to the Sherburne Wildlife Refuge near Zimmerman, past Tallakson's Tree Farm, and home. Asphalt and gravel. Nice overcast morning ride.

Saturday was a day off from riding and such. If I could have snuck a ride in I would have but there just wasn't enough time or energy. The girls had a dance recital at 11, which they had to be at by 10. Had it been in the afternoon I could have jumped on the Saturday hill ("Jimmy") ride...but that's wishful thinking. Still haven't made one of those rides.
Afterwards we headed home and proceeded to move stuff back, cleaning, and organize all the clutter from getting new carpet, etc. Took a lot more energy and time than I thought! Lots of trips up and down stairs was working my legs over.

Sunday was a ride day. Up, dressed, food consumed, and on the bike by 5:30 am. I guess you could say I did a bit of recon for the Dirt Bag III. But continued on past any point south which the Dirt Bag would reach. I didn't have a location in mind, just wanted to hit 4 hours or so out, mostly into the wind, and boogie on home.
Went something like this: STC, Clearwater, Montrose, Watertown, Winsted, New Germany, Howard Lake, kind of Annondale, the narrows of Clearlake (the lake not the town), St. Augusta, and home. 7.5 hours (or so) and 130 miles.
Teamcrc hundo for April done! Getting it done when I can...baby may come soon!
Felt pretty damn good and comfortable. Salsa Fargo rocks! For bigger tires, I averaged 17 mph on a good mix of gravel and asphalt. The gravel south of Hwy 55 gets a bit hilly and fun.

Watertown is host to a gravel ride/race in July. Did some riding around there. Pretty similar to the Dirty Benjamin...not too sure on proximity to each other.

This week will be an interesting one for rides. Jen is gone late the next four nights! Just gonna roll with it and chill, have fun, and be a dad!

Out.
