Vee

I've been running this tire, Vee Rubber 12 29x1.95, on my Salsa Fargo since day one.  Have to say I'm very happy with the tire and it's performance.
The 1.95 is probably a generous measurement, but I'm fine with that.  May actually try the 1.75 next.  The tire rolls well but also grips nicely.  Having been running 700x35 tires on gravel the added control and comfort have been nice.
I was concerned about the wear of the tire.  I would guess I have a bit over 1000 miles on it already and it is showing signs of wear on the rear tire.  But 1000 miles on a mtb tire on pavement and gravel is pretty damn good in my book!
While I like to try new things, including tires, I think I'll be sticking with this one for awhile.  or until the "next best thing" comes out!
