Not a bad holiday weekend. Lots of stuff happening but didn't do a lot of stuff either.
Friday: got out for a 3.5 hour road ride. Then off to the Kid's Apple Duathlon and the Cannondale Demo.
Saturday: No riding, wanted to but just didn't work out. Up early to help Mike a bit as mechanic at the Apple Duathlon then off to man the water stop on the bike. Not many takers this year as it rained and was damn cold. Reports of hypothermia later surfaced...in May?! Hung out with the family the rest of the day doing errands and watching movies.
Sunday: Got out for a 4.5 hour gravel ride on the Salsa Fargo. It was one of those unique days in that the wind seemed to follow me as a tailwind! Got way hotter and sunnier than I thought. Haven't had a sweat like that on a bike yet this year. Need to remember sunscreen, even when it starts out cloudy and cool. Yard work and chilling was the rest of the day.
Monday: Riding the road bike by 6 for 3 hours with Mike. Then worked from 10-4. Hit up a grad party then home to get ready for the week ahead.
Originally planned on doing the Tuesday Night Road Ride tonight but have decided to bail...for a couple reasons: 1.) the rides are fast and hard, which is good. This, however, doesn't fall into my goals for this week of big hours on the bike. Debating a night gravel ride but maybe not. Will be riding the rest of the week so maybe rest?! 2.) If I don't come home tonight after work I won't really see the kids the rest of the week except in bed or on the way to school. That, and Jen will be on her own too. Happy with the choice!
And it's GO time.
Out.
