It's 4:54 am. I'm waiting for the water to boil to make my oatmeal, coffee has already been consumed. Westside Dirty Benjamin is today! If I'm not mistaken, this is my first race since the Arrowhead 135 in February. It's time!
Pretty excited. More so for the camaraderie than the race but excited nonetheless. Honestly, I'm not too nervous. I do have the "week didn't go as planned and I feel out of shape" thing going on, but whatever. Ride Benny, Ride!
The plan is to be picked up by Jen and the girls after the race, we have a grad party to attend. Hope it won't be to obvious that I'm the one that ate all the food! We're spending the night at Jen's folks in Coon Rapids. Up early tomorrow again to bike home before work at noon. I know I'll like it once I get going but the first thing that popped into my head this morning when I got up was I want to sleep in tomorrow. What happened to me?!
A week from today is the Chequamegon 100. Also pretty excited for this one. But also ready for the races to be done! I don't like having to think about what I should or shouldn't ride the week before a race. I really want to get another night gravel ride going but feel the extra mileage and sleep deprivation isn't the smartest. Eh, whatever...I'm not going to win so do it...right?
Night Gravel next week...anyone? Reeve? Granola Kyle?
Next Friday, the 22nd, is the PanAm Mtb race at the North Loop. I am helping run the race with a local police officer/friend. In return the games are donating awesome trail signs and lumber for bridge replacement and bridge additions...super cool! Looking at doing some trail work next Thursday at the Loop and getting the race course set up. Please consider stopping by to help out. Let me know if questions, etc.
Gotta go, coffee is working...yes!
Out.

Ben, it's the CanAm games not the PanAm games. Canadian/American not Panamian/American. :) It should be a pretty easy event to help with, not many registered racers.
By the way the race is on the 29th.
Doh....too early in the morning. I knew PanAm didn't sound right. But it was all I could think of!
