Lots of riding went down this weekend.
Saturday I worked 10-6. Before work I hit up the trails at Riverside/Talahi Woods and the North Loop...running. Nabbed an hour. It was pretty fun since I haven't run the trails since spring. The trails at Riverside need some loving or a few hard frosts.
Saturday night I busted down to Brian I. house for a quick dinner and some Fat Bike Adveture Action. We hit the Mississippi River and went south. We stopped when we no longer could continue on. As the water retreats our options expand...looking at next Saturday for some more!
It was super cool. No worries about time, distance, or speed. Just two dudes getting muddy on some kick ass bikes. I finally put the Surly Nates on and glad I did. The worn out Endomorph's would have been useless in many of the situations. These tires scream BRAAAP! Got about 2 hours in. Disappearing daylight was our only time constraint. Not a bad Saturday night.
Sunday I was out the door ridng on the La Cruz by 7:30. Wasn't too sure on the overall plan. I knew I was shooting for 100 (teamcrc) but that was about it. I was up for anything, riding surface wise, but ended up with the majority on pavement.
The route went something like this: STC, Sauk Rapids, Sartell, Rice, North Prairie, Little Falls, Swanville, Gray Eagle, St. Rosa, Freeport, Albany, almost Richmond, Collegeville, St. Joseph, STC, and Doc's for a team BBQ.
Totals: 7 hours and 130 miles. Felt good and had a good time, even without an iPod! Can't complain.
The ride ended with a BBQ with Rev/TwinSix member...if only all rides could end like that!
Heading out soon for an easy 2 hour recovery. Home to maybe help paint the bathroom (color is in question) and then head to the cities for the Salsa Bike Demo of 2013 bikes...can't wait!
Awesome.
