While Fat Bikes are still a niche, the popularity has definitely grown. They even have a race series! I was one to think that Fat Bikes were for the winter and that was pretty much it. But more so this year than any previous my Surly Pugsley has been my go to bike for mountain biking.
Why?
It fun! It's more comfortable. It's playful. I can be a clumsy rider and still pull off moves...or mistakes, without crashing! But it's just really fun.
Last night I, once again, took out my Pugsley to the North Loop. Two laps in light and one with lights. Funny how 3 laps at 2 hours can feel like 4 on the road. I felt pretty whipped at the end of the ride, but rode home with a smile on my face.
Thought I'd head out early this morning for a run before Jen had to leave at 7:15 but my bum ankle hurts a bit from last night so I'm passing. Blogging and drinking coffee instead.
The plan was to run hills and steps at Riverside, for something different. I know, doesn't sound too appealing but it is something different...which I need more of. Shock the 'ol body.
Open House at the kid's school this afternoon. My guess is I'll end back at the North Loop for some more circle riding tonight. This time on a non Fat Bike.
Hoping to get a Wednesday Night Gravel Ride rolling again this week. If it happens most likely 8:30 from the shop for 3 or so hours. Stay tuned.
Out.
