Heading out to Colorado Springs this morning to aid Mike in is race, National 24 Hour Championships, this Saturday-Sunday. Sunday we start the drive to home. Fast, fun trip. Can't wait.
So a bit of a recap of the past several days in fast forward...
The Revolution Single Track Escape went off this past Sunday and as far as I can tell it was a huge success! Thanks to all the help from all the volunteers...we almost had too many!!!
We were saboataged a bit at the start. We marked the course Saturday afternoon. Sunday morning it was discovered a lot of the tape was ripped down or untied and retied elsewhere. This made for some frantic moments but Mr. Anderson and I got it dialed in.
The onhand USA Cycling Official was somewhat of a tool and a pain. I guess he was doing his job but damn, this is a low key MTB race not road nationals.
Appears both the Nordic Ski Club of Central MN and the Mid MN Cycling Club will get some good money from the race...all of which goes back into the trails Win, win.
Both Monday and Tuesday I went out to Warner Lake and did some cyclocross practice. We have a pretty decent course out there, complete with barriers and a long stair run up. Super stoked at how fun it is and how my knee doesn't give me any crap at the barriers. Being that this is so new to me I'm pretty cautious (or timid) at the barriers, but I figure with time it will smooth out a bit. Crazy fun...who'd a thunk.
Already have a couple races on my radar!
OK...gotts go.
May post from the phone a bit but more so on FaceBook and whatnot.
Later.
