Looking for a little Inspiration.

I haven't been riding my Salsa Fargo much lately as it was getting some new parts and much needed love after hours and hours of use.  Finally finished it up Tuesday morning.  Wednesday was my first ride on it in sometime.  Holy cow is that bike awesome.  3 hours of comfort!  The first block it always feels a bit odd.  Sitting too high, weird bars, etc.  But that passes and like peanut butter and jelly we just fit together...if that makes any kind of sense!
Also glad I was on the Fargo (which has wider, 700x40, tires) since it's been so dry the gravel roads are so loose and sloppy.

Yesterday I worked my short shift of the week, 9-noon.  Busted home did some home stuff and got out for a quick spin.  I put some different tires, wheels, and a new chain on the Salsa La Cruz in preparation for Saturday's Inspiration 100 gravel race.  So the La Cruz was the bike I rode to give it one more shake down.  Seems just fine.  Rode part of the Dirt Bag course which got me thinking I better start getting that rolling too.  Man time flies!  Ended with 2.5 hours.  Once home whipped up an awesome summer orzo pasta thing I make.  Ate quickly with the family and off to trail work at the North Loop.

September 23rd is the annual MTB race at the Loop.  With the lack of rain this year not much mowing is needed but tree clipping and removal is.  Twisted Sister hasn't been open for almost 2 years.  I was hoping for a bigger crew to pound that out too.  But per usual the standard three were there plus about 3 others and a straggler or two.  Better than nothing but was kind of bummed that the lot was full but most were riding.  Ah the angst of a trail builder/maintainer!
We did get most, if not all, of the down trees removed and lots of clipping done.  Only one tree of several from Twisted Sister was removed.  More next or the following week.  We, the MMCC, would like to get Plum Creek ready for fall too, but I'm seriously lacking motivation.

Originally thought of riding cty rd 8 this morning for a 25 mile spin but NW winds, and high at that, are predicted so I'm second guessing myself.  While a spin would feel good and a nice way to start the day I'm not too sure I need it.  That and time is limited.  Drop off the kids, back home, jump on the bike, ride, back home, change, and back to work by 9.  I think I may be more stressed than relaxed.

Head up to Alexandria tonight.  Super pumped for the Inspiration 100 tomorrow.  I think it's something like a dozen riders from Cloud doing the event...plus some crazy guy from Bemidji!

Let's get it on!

Out.
