Trail Life.

Well I'm pretty much as ready as I will be, ride wise, for the Tuscobia 150 on December 29th.  I will ride a few days here and there but nothing too hard or long.  If time was on my side I would love to ride today and tomorrow but work and holiday activities have trumped riding...oh well.

I did get in some awesome riding this week.
Monday was a pavement, gravel, snowmobile fat bike ride with Jimmy and Matt.  All had a great time!

Tuesday I got out for some xc ski action with Mike.  Also a lot of fun but it aggravates my bum ankle.  Was planning on some skiing today and tomorrow but holding off for bit.

Wednesday I got out for a tad over 3 hours before work at noon.  Fat bike of course!  Down cty road 8, over to Palmer on 16.  There I jumped on some snowmobile trails to Jack and Jim's.  Back of there north lot another trail continues on.  Took that almost back to cloud.  Did a quick, bumpy lap at Sand Prairie then home.

Thursday I was able to get my morning shift off for one last "big" ride.  Had to be home in time to get the kids at two so my 6 hour ride was 4, but damn fun and good enough!
I drove out to St. Joe and started on the snowmobile trails at the Park n Ride.  These are my favorite.  Took the nicer of my fat bikes, the ti Mukluk...the race steed.  Absolutely love that thing...so comfortable.
The trails were in pretty damn fine shape.  It was one of those days that I could have just kept going...hope that feeling is with me in a week!

Overall I feel pretty ready for the Tuscobia, which is funny, since at the start of this week I would have told you otherwise.  Yeah, I wish I could have ridden more and actually dropped a few of the extra pounds that I so often talk about.  But my legs are feeling strong and my mental game is coming along.  I know a lot of the riders doing the 150 and really only see them at races so excited to spend some time with them, etc.  That and sharing a room with Amo!  It's gonna rock.

Later.
