Foiled...but that's ok.

Saturday I spent all day with the kids while Jen was off at a Knowledge Bowl Meet.  It was a great day but went by too fast.
When Jen got home it was a mad scramble to get a fat bike, gear, 3 kids, 2 adults, luggage, etc. into the van.  Off to our last Holiday Party in Lakeville.  Not sure but we must have been damn close to Iowa.
Half way down I realized I forgot my Arctic Innovations Hydration Pack at home.  I was pissed but not overly, banging on the steering wheel pissed!  I had planned on biking home from Coon Rapids on Sunday to test myself and gear (namely the pack) in sub zero temps.  We stopped at Maple Grove Fitness to buy an insulated bottle but they were closed.  Had I really wanted to I could have made it work.  But truthfully, I hadn't fully understood the time commitment I was looking at.  When I bike this route in the summer I'm looking at 4 hours.  On a fat bike with studs,  on snowmobile trails I'd guess at least 7.  Not what I was looking for.
Plus my back and neck are feeling pretty good after the Tuscobia and didn't want to push it.

We got home around noon on Sunday.  I geared up and was out the door biking by 12:30.  I didn't get 7 hours in but a more manageable 3.  It was actually pretty damn nice out.  Biking home form CR would've been ok.
The going was pretty fast.  The trails are hard packed and with lots of ice.  Studs sure helped keep me upright!  Worth the cost right there.

Leg day at the gym today.
Hoping for a Tuesday Night Fat Bike Ride.  Not sure about the conditions...ice!  (any takers?)

Rest of the week is: TBD.

Later.
