Yesterday morning I lingered in bed a bit longer than anticipated, but waited for the sun to crest the horizon and warm things up a bit.
Nonetheless I was clipped in and heading east by 8.
The route was something like this: STC, airport, Santiago, Glendorado, somewhere between Foreston and Milaca, almost Hillman, Buckman, skirted Rice, home.
106 miles in 6 hrs 20 some minutes. Salsa Ti Las Cruces with Schwalbe Supreme tires. Stuck to pavement, as the gravel looked pretty soft and wet.
Felt really good! Feeling a bit more ready for Trans Iowa everyday. But really, one is never "ready" for 330 miles of hilly Iowan gravel.
In the cities now heading to the Science Museum shortly. Should be a good day for a fun weekend.
