Yesterday was kind of a "blah" day. Looking out the windows at work told a different story. Blue skies and sun let one believe it was nice...until you stepped outside and felt the force of the chilly NW wind in your face. Not an ideal day for a ride.
I was able to jet out of work a bit early and snag a ride. I hooked up with Noah...misery loves company. We took the river road up to Rice. This road is almost like cheating NW winds. It's surprisingly sheltered most of the way to Rice. We did feel the full brunt of the wind on our way to Royalton however. Still, it wasn't too bad. The thought of riding in the wind sucks but once doing it, it's usually ok. I'm not a fan of large groups in the wind. It tends to be a bit chaotic and the chance of a crash seems more of a matter of when, not if.
At Royalton we made our way west and then turned for home on the other side of the Mississippi. We finished with 3 hours 10 minutes. While I tend to prefer solo riding it was amazing how fast the ride went by. On a rather crappy day it was a great ride.
I work again today. Hope to by on the bike before 6. This time the Evergreen gets the call up. The wind is actually out of the South! Looks like some Dirt Bag action!
