That was Deep.

Mother Nature sure tried to prevent me from riding yesterday.  While we didn't get the predicted 5" it rained, sleeted, and snowed on and off all day.  I thought I was done with the fat bike for the season but it got the nod yesterday after dinner.  I didn't have a ton of time (1.5 hours) so I opted for my "fat bike" loop...Talahi Woods track, Balto's, Sand Prairie, Friedrich Park, and home.  With this route I was able to avoid the roads mostly, which was nice as they were a sloppy mess.

Back on Balto's I came upon a large water section.  It looked deep, like maybe 4".  I can make it!  Once you start, however, you are committed, there was no turning around room.  Well it got deeper and deeper.  Deep enough to cover my hubs and splash over the top of my Wolvhammer boots.  Dang!

Sand Prairie was riding surprisingly well.  Had I had more time I'd have made a few more laps.  Friedrich was probably the best of the bunch.  Nonetheless I've moved on and would rather be on the road/gravel.  Which shouldn't be too long.  Today and tomorrow we are flirting with 50 degrees.  But back below freezing for highs this weekend.

Minnesota Spring.
