NYD Fat Bike Ride.

Rather quickly an impromptu fat bike ride was tossed together for New Years Day.  Several years ago a small handful of us would show up as so few had fat bikes.  Yesterday we had 19 riders!  Despite the 2 days of rain at the end of last week the 2-3" of new snow on Monday made the trails awesome.  It's cooled down enough as well to allow us access to Friedrich Park via the connector trail.

I ended up getting 2 hours in.  My longest ride since my concussion!  I felt good till the end of the ride when the back of my head started to throb.  I called it a day and headed for home.  Once home and I removed my helmet the pain was immediately gone.  Doh...helmet was too tight, ha!

The rest of the day was spent watching bowl games, Target, and dinner. The kids head back to school today and I'm off.  I was hoping to take the Surly Cross Check studded, single speed out but it's lightly snowing enough to hide any ice.  Even with studs I'm playing Mr. Cautious, thus I'll jump back on the fat bike.
