A Great Week...just took me a bit to realize it.

Well I finally got out for a solid ride.  Saturday morning I was up and rolling by 8 on the Moots.  The wind (W/NW) was already pretty strong but would increase throughout the day.  As I have of late for NW winds I made my way up the River Road.  Over an hour in I hit 450th Street and gravel.  I usually take this for a bit but later head north.  This time I rode it to the end and started making my way back.
By this time the wind was in the 20 mph range so the going was fast!  Despite it being windy it was so good to be out that I honestly didn't even notice the wind.

450th is the the straight shot across the top.

Ended with a tad over 86 miles and 5+ hours.  Later that afternoon we had a yard party to celebrate Harper and Avery's birthdays with the grandparents.  Kind of odd.  Three separate groups all 10' apart in the backyard.  Nonetheless even this hermit was happy to see people outside of work.  Our kids are very lucky to have the grandparents they have.

Sunday was Avery's birthday.  Saturday night I got a text from an employee saying they couldn't work.  I assumed I'd be going in to work but I was able to find a replacement.  Mike and I still went in early to build 11 bikes.  Bikes are flying out the door!
The family and I later went for the Bridges Walk (about 2.5 miles).  We then hung out in the back yard slack lining, playing croquet, I put up a rope swing, and lounging.  Before dinner I snuck out for 1.5 hour mtb ride.  Trails are great!  We ended the night with a fire and s'mores.

While not the week I would have planned it ended up being a great week, once I got past not riding.  I know, I know...silly.  My family is great.

I hope to be on the bike by 6 this morning.  Last week I worked a bunch of 8-6 shifts.  This week I hope to ride M, W, F mornings and get in around 10.  My sanity needs it.  Finding new balance.  But dang it's chilly!  37 with a feels like 31 temp.  Ugh..

Happy Week.
