Monster saved me from the Sleep Monster.

Thursday morning the older girls had swimming and Jen had an appointment.  I hung out with Toby while Harper slept.  That kid can sleep!  Sometime time around 10:00 I got out for a ride.  The wind was NE for the most part so back to a route I've done a couple times this week already.  I did toss in a few different turns to switch things up some.

The first stretch I was battling the sleep monster, something I usually only deal with during overnight races and such.  Combine that with shit gravel (Benton County) and a headwind and I was moving pretty slowly. I stopped in Foreston for a top off of the fluids (past this there really isn't much for refueling) and hopefully get energized.  I also slammed an energy drink.  Not sure if it was that or just the stop but I was good to go the rest of the ride.

The plan wasn't to hit Hwy 169 but similar to all roads near Holdingford lead to it, it seems all roads in Mille Lacs County near 169 lead to it.  One such road is Marsh Road.  If you ever find yourself near it, take it.  One of my favorite.

Because I went further East than planned I got more time and distance than anticipated .  But it was all good and fun.

The Ride.

The Route.

It's currently raining, letting up in a couple hours or so.  I may get out for a shorter ride at some point.  Saturday we have family (My folks, sister and her family, and all of us) photos in the afternoon so I hope to get out early.  I have some fall planting to do as well.  It'll be a fast weekend as most are.
