Above Zero.

Yesterday was my first ride in above zero degree temperatures in over a week!  We also received about 3/4" of snow.  With the warm temps and the snow the roads were a mess.  That wasn't an issue with below zero temps!

Wednesday night I had some friends ride on the Mississippi River.  They went further South than I had been going.  They actually went further South than I have ever gone.  They went to Plumb Creek where the proceeded to bushwhack to Franklin Road and back.  Thursday I decided I would give this a shot.  My plan was to never make it to Plumb Creek or at least Franklin.  I was going for an out and back.  Once I hit open water I turned around.  About halfway between Johnson and Franklin Creeks.  My friends had bushwhacked around the open water.  I wasn't interested in doing this.  They saw the need to poke fun, ha!  I honestly paused and thought about going on but running solo is different than running with a group.

My turnaround point.

After the river, River Bluffs, and Plumb Creek I headed back to the other side of the Mississippi.  A few laps at the Race Track before heading to Sand Prairie.  SP is running the best it has all winter.  It's still rough but better.  More snow would always help.  I am getting to the point, however, where I'm not sure if I want more snow.  But I'm weird with snow.  Even if I don't want it I still get excited waking up to a pile of new snow!
After SP I took the bushwhack way into Friedrich Park, the Cross Over, and then the North Loop.  Ended the ride doing laps on .3 and Doom's Return.  A good ride.
The Ride.

My plan this morning was to not go back to SP but last night a friend lost his backup headlight.  Figure I'll go do a lap and see if I can't find it.

Happy Weekend...40's next week.  Dig out the fenders.
