Monday and Tuesday were warm, real warm. Both our official trails (North Loop and Plum Creek) have been shut down till it gets cooler. Luckily we have many other areas we can ride that also get used by walkers: Sand Prairie, Friedrich Park, Race Track, River Bluffs, and the river itself.
Yesterday I made my way over to the River Bluff trails. Despite the warm weather the trails are holding up great. From so much use and then crazy cold temps the deck is holding strong. That being said if someone was to ride the trails mid day I think some serious rutting would happen. With warming temps, riding on the river is going to disappear. I decided to get a little jaunt in while I could. It's actually riding very fast right now. But I was not able to go down as far as I normally do as open water has taken over.
We received maybe an inch (or less) of snow overnight. Not sure how I feel about that. I'm getting anxious to get out on a skinny tired bike. Maybe I need to put the studded tires on the Nature Boy.
This morning I'll keep it short with some laps on the Race Track and Fred Park. I am missing my laps on .3 and Doom's Return however...ha!
