Nordic Sunday.

In preparation for the inevitable "eating fest" at my parent's house tonight I headed out for a ski at SJU. I don't make it out there too often. It takes about 20-30 minutes of driving while it takes only 2 minutes to get to the Prison Trails. But having put in a few 3 hour skis I feel pretty intimate with the prison trails and could use a bit of variety.
SJU is hilly! Skiing all of the the prison trails I double stick maybe two hills. At SJU I double stick every other hill. I met up with Matt and Lance. We ran into Mike too. It was fun skiing with a group for a change and not just me and my iPod. The trails were soft and covered with about 2" of new snow but overall not bad at all. I could definitely tell my skis were slowing as the day progressed. It didn't help that I was getting more and more tired too. The Trinity Loop is wicked. Straight ups and downs everywhere. I crashed pretty good on one of the down hills. I just sat on my butt but sprayed snow everywhere. We ended up with 3 hours...enough to eliminate the need for guilt with all the food I am about to eat!

Monday I will be back on the calorie counting phase of my life. I decided it isn't worth it on the weekends. So I'm not going to worry about it and enjoy what I am eating!

My upcoming riding season is full. I don't want to take on anymore events. I am happy with what I have and think it is more than enough. A couple of them conflict with work so I don't know about being able to do them. I really hope so, as they should be fun...and they are hard to get into!

Later.

I can work for you on those conflict days.

oh, and 404 clinchers or tubulars? the clinchers mean that they can be swapped without having to change brake pads and presumably without too much set up and can be used more readily on regular rides. the toobies are classic racing wheels, but less versatile...

sorry, your blog have been hijacked by my blog.

Well, I dig the pic...you know, of actually you!
I'm torn on the clincher, tubular debate. I understand the versatility of the clincher. But is that worth the extra weight?

Oh yeah...you're hired.
