Man, it's been a week since I posted...I guess that happens sometimes. Per usual here's a recap.
Monday: Did the Night MTB Ride. I got out at 6:50 and headed to the South Trail: Plum Creek and the River Bluffs. I rode the Surly 1x1. I forgot how much fun 26" wheels can be. I can actually jump around a bit...just a bit! Only four of us showed up at the North Loop at 8:30. But is was a blast. Ended up with almost 3 hours of night riding!
Tuesday: Gym day. Girls had gymnastics then it was back to work for a house keeping meeting and a refresher on Nordic ski fitting, etc.
Wednesday: Not that long ago but I'm struggling to remember what I did. Gym in the morning. Atomic ski clinic in the afternoon. Oh yeah...Brian and I drove the Dirt Bag course. Double checked street names and mileage. Confirmed and marked the changes. It's done and dialed, I really like the course. Very excited for next Saturday. Mileage was just shy of 82 miles.
Thursday: Worked noon to close so Brian and I met at the shop for a mtb ride. Hit up Quarry Park. I haven't ridden there in about a year. It's always a fun time. I like riding there to change up the pace a bit. We don't ride fast or super hard but really work on our technical riding skills. I really like following Brian because he picks good lines and makes it look easy. If I'm right on his wheel I don't have time to chicken out. I didn't make everything but was pretty happy with how I did.
Friday: Gym...again. I am still digging the gym. I have started my fall leg workouts. I try to work on my stability muscles around my knees in preparation for Nordic skiing. I also try to balance out my muscles after a season of "just" riding. Tossed in a good "elliptical" session too. That I am burnt out on.
Jen and I, plus some others from the STC hit up the White Horse to watch our friends in Albuterol. The problem was they didn't start till midnight! That's pretty freaking late for this guy. I bellied up to the bar and watched Texas destroy the Yankees. I got the DD discount on Diet Pepsi. Every time the waitress walked by she filled it up. I think I must have had 10 glasses. I finally threw in the towel and put napkins in the glass. I guess that's an alcoholic. Put it in front of me and I'll drink it! Not once during the night did I wish I could drink. Happy with that. I did, however, wish to be in bed. Albuterol rocked! Not the typical White Horse band. They did so well and the crowd reacted so well that they were asked to come back for a Halloween show!
Saturday: Got to bed at 2:30 and up by 6! Kyia picked me up at 7. We were on our way to Mora for the Nordic Ski coaches meeting and Nordic Ski expo. I was tired but actually had a good time. I am pretty stoked to get snow now. I nodded off a couple of times on the way home. Thanks to Kyia for driving. Hit the gym up for a bit. Didn't get to bed as early has I hoped but feeling pretty good this morning.
Sunday: Plan on riding but it is currently dark and raining. The motivation isn't there yet. Well see what it is like when the sun comes up.
Enjoy.
