Spent Friday down in Marshall visiting relatives and grandparents. Nothing crazy just your typical holiday shenanigans. I had toyed with the idea of bringing my bike and biking home on Saturday. It would have been a nice day for it, but an extremely long day. It takes 2.5 hours in the car. It would have been an 8-10 hour day.
So instead I went out for 3 hours when we got back in the STC. I have the All City Nature Boy geared up with studded tires. I was running a 41/17 gear ratio but switched it to 38/16...still too steep, 36/16 next time out.
The legs felt pretty heavy the entire ride. I pretty much jumped on the bike from sitting in the car for 2.5 hours and I'm sure I was well on my way to being very dehydrated. Not much water was consumed the past few days. If I'm not at work I tend to not drink water?
The roads are a mess. It wasn't till I hit the gravel roads did the slop end. The gravel roads are crazy icy but the studs worked well. It's always the start and end of winter that I hate. Slop, salt, sand, and dirty snow everywhere. Makes me wish I could move somewhere warm.
Because of the lousy conditions (sloppy roads and/or not enough snow for anything else) I was lacking motivation on Sunday. Mentally I talked myself out of 3 hours of riding down to 2. I spent the time on the Pugsley at Plum Creek and the River Bluff Trails. I had a good time, but was ready to be done with 2 hours in.
The next two days are suppose to bring us a rain/snow mix...great more freakin slop. Monday night ride may or may not happen. If it's raining I am OUT.
I'm ready to be back on the wagon eating wise. I like Thanksgiving and I like to enjoy it and the copious amounts of food that comes with it. So I let myself go a few days. But crap is crap and you are what you eat. Healthy eating back on schedule today. Scale on Friday. Damn my life is full of excitement!
Later.
