Six days and counting! Tonight I'm am going to fully pack and load the bike like it will be on race day. Tomorrow I plan on taking it out for the last "shake down" ride. Nothing serious just a cruise of two hours or so.
While am pretty excited for this race I am also ready for it to be over. I love, and I mean love, cycling but I do want to get out on the xc skis some before all out snow is gone or turns to crap. I also want to get back on the weight loss thing. I decided it wasn't too smart to limit my calories before a 20 some hour ride in the middle of winter. My goal still stands at 180 lbs. Very attainable.
Later.

That is brilliant!
I just came across your blog today and found it very interesting. Thanks for the tip on your "secret weapon"...I constantly have cold fingers and toes due to circulation so I should really look into this.

jesus!
the burn!
should have read the disclaimer earlier...
OK, I might use this secret stuff on my cold feet (not on more sensitive parts). I'm not sure what embrocation means or what Flahute is, but a burning sensation is good if you are cold. Not sure if I would use it in hot weather. Anyway, good luck in the race! Stay warm and hydrated and don't forget to eat!
