I was on the fence whether or not the Tuesday Road Ride would occur. When the rain came I was on my way over and ready to call it. But the rain subsided and the skies cleared. Ride on!
I was expecting 3 maybe 4 riders for this early season ride, but 7 of us rolled out of the parking lot! Mike, Charlie, Doc, Nate, Mark, Matt, and myself...awesome.
For some reason the overwhelming consensus was to ride up and over the Alp. I will admit I do feel in better shape for this hill than I have in previous springs. Charlie killed it over the Alp. He pretty much killed it everywhere, with a broken chain too!
Fighting the quickly fading daylight we amped the speed up. When Charlie got in the lead with his cyclocross bike he hammered and just kept going. I'm glad he didn't pull off. I was next up and was feeling the hurt he was dishing...again awesome.
It was a great ride, 2 hours 15 minutes with 40 miles.
The rest of the week turns pretty hectic so not too sure what the ride scenario will be. Maybe another early morning trainer ride tomorrow, time will tell.
Today is, I think, a lovely jaunt on the treadmill. It's a great workout with minimal time.
Success.
Later.
