Yesterday the decision was made to ride. I was surprised and happy to see four other riders ready to ride as well! I'm glad we did go. It was wet and sloppy but not too chilly, making for a surprisingly comfortable ride. Having others with helps too.
I opted for the All City, since it currently has full fenders on. It also has a set of the Schwalbe Cross 700x38 tires on. They look big and burly but, as stated in a previous post, roll oh so smooth. I'm loving the single speed.
I also was able to pull out my Showers Pass rain jacket. You know the one that if I bought I'd ride more in "bad" weather. That jacket rocks. It's one of the few jackets that keeps you dry and actually breathes, such a novel idea. I used my Glacier gloves for the first time. They are originally made, I think, for ice fishing, but work great for the weather of yesterday. They are full neoprene gloves.
We ended up with 3 hours, almost 50 miles.
Today is a gym day. Some weights, light, and elliptical.
Tuesday is the night ride, 5:30, but snow is predicted.
The rest of the week is much cooler with possible snow...piss on that.
So truly not sure what is in store for me. With now looking at 5 weeks left till TransIowa V.7 I really want to amp up the hours. As they say, I guess it's time to cowboy up and just ride...any ride.
Oh yeah, for a funny post about how crazy xc skiers are check out Kyia's blog!
Later.
