April Showers Suck.

If I had to guess I would have said April has been a "wet" one. Turns out we are behind and could actually use the rain. I guess the wind, overcast skies, and cold weather just make it seem wet.
I feel I talk and complain a lot about the weather, but the business I'm in really depends on the weather. Snow in the winter to sell skis and sun in the summer to sell bikes. Like farmers, we are dependent on the weather. Like Farmers I wish the government gave the bike business subsidies!
So with the weather yesterday the Tuesday ride was called. I think if we "really" wanted to we cold have snuck out and suffered in the wind and drizzle, but none of us wanted to. Enough already. I was going to ride this morning but switched shifts with Mike at work so it's another gym day. That's ok as it's still raining. Tomorrow thru Sunday is my tentative plan for riding, giddy up.

I didn't sign up for the Chequamegon 100 this year as it's the weekend after the Almanzo. May tends to be one of the busiest times of the year in the bike world so being gone two weekends in a row isn't fair. But the thought of MTBing has me really wishing I was doing it. It's full and closed so maybe next year. I am still longing to hit the dirt. I miss my friend the North Loop!

Later.

You could move to MT and enjoy the 40% above average precip/snowpack we are enjoying this year. We had
20 days of rain / snow in June last year. I don't think I really started mtbing until 2nd week of July... Booo...

I too miss your friend "the North Loop", and don't feel bad, just cause its sunny and warm doesn't mean its fun to ride, you could have consistent 40mph winds for two weeks like me, it has me wishing for the rain.
