So if I sit in a sauna for a given amount of time my heart rate can sneak up to 130-135 bpm, just sitting there. Now toss in a Tuesday Night Road Ride.
Heart rates were sky high last night. Crazy how the heat and humidity can play havoc on your system so easily. We lost two riders early on and a third mid way due to heat complications. Just wicked...but in a weird way (the kind that finds riding in -20 fun) it was kind of fun.
We did, what we dub the "lake" route. Headed south to Annandale, French Lake, Lake Sylvia, South Haven, Fairhaven, and home. 70 miles with a 21 mph average. Been slamming water ever since.
Speaking of water...Last night on the ride Ziemer was squirting water on his head. The angle of the sun reflecting off the water, the slight movement of his head, and the cascading water beads made it look like a porno sequence. See...Tuesday rides rock!
Today is my 3 years of sobriety! As time passes it becomes easier and easier. Actually easier than I thought. There are still times I crave a beer, etc. But really it's just that. So time to celebrate with a morning cruise to spin the legs.
Later.
