Round and Round.

Worked 9-noon yesterday. Had to finish up some yard work. Cut up a tree some more, moved an entire tree from the back yard to a trailer. Took longer than I thought, but it's work that I like doing.
Still sweaty and trying to finagle bibs and jersey on is not the easiest of tasks. I felt like one of those weird guys than can put themselves into a 2'x2' box. In at last!

If anyone out there is thinking about a single speed mountain bike look no further than the Salsa Selma. I needed to tighten the chain before my ride. I hesitated to mess with the rear wheel in fears of then needing to adjust the brakes. No need to worry. With the kick-ass drop outs there is no need to loosen the wheel at all. Just the adjuster bolts, slide, tighten, and ride. Awesome.

Over to the North Loop. I wanted to get a "good" ride in but wasn't too sure what I could handle. I tend to not do too well with "loops". I get bored easily I guess. But with a new play list on the iPod and the loop in great condition, I was able to ride and ride.
Ended up with 6 full laps (not twisted sister...that just plain sucks) and 3 hours 40 minutes. I'm not sure what the mileage is on that. The GPS tends to not work so well when the trail twists and turns on top of itself as the North Loop does.
I crashed 3 times, all on the 4th lap. Two of the crashes happened 10' from each other! Both knees have some raspberries today but nothing serious.
I was a bit worried that if I put in a lot of time at the loop I'd be sick of it, so far...I'm not! I'm sure it will come, but by then hopefully we have taken care of Plum Creek and the frost has taken care of the rest of the trails.

I have an appointment at 10:30 so out the door by 5:30 this morning. Actually pretty excited to get out on the bike.

I haven't had too many takers on the Saturday night gravel ride. It's still in limbo. Soon.

Today is weigh in day. Always an exciting day! Lost two more pounds, for a total of 8 in two weeks. The first week was a lot, most likely due to having just coming off a week vacation where I told myself this was the last hurray before operation slim down commenced. I'm happy with a pound a week.
Goal is 180, maybe 175, but I haven't weight 175 since I started going to the gym after my second knee surgery 12 years ago. We'll see.

Later.

Can I just say, one more time - publicly this time - you're perfect and incredibly hot! (Remember, you could be a model.) If you really want to get down to 175 or 180, the only thing you have to lose is the muscle that you've worked 12 hard years to get. For what reason, again? To cut weight on the snow bike?
