Not much happened yesterday. Worked, came home, moved a couch, put some more stuff away, snuck a 1.5 hour mtb ride in, dinner with Jen and some friends, and bed.
The mtb ride was pretty fun. It was the first ride this season on the Salsa Selma Ti. After riding the Fat Bikes, that thing feels like a rocket ship!
I'm using some new tires (Bontrager) that absolutely roll and grip perfectly, just wish they were a bit wider. They are a narrow 2.1. I roll with them for a bit and see how they work.
Today I will make the Tuesday Night Road Ride! It's been awhile, like a month. While I'm excited, I'm also not excited. Breezy conditions out of the North with a high in the low 40's. Oh well, riding is riding and good times should ensue.
I was reminded of the following from a friend last night, enjoy.
On the Birth of My Son
Most fathers, when they have a son,
hope the boy will prove intelligent.
But I, through misapplied intelligence,
have wrecked my whole life,
and therefore hope my son
will grow up ignorant,
stupid and dull.
That way he'll lead a tranquil life
as a public administrator,
college president,
or United States Senator.
-ed abbey, "Earth Apples".
Miss reading Ed Abbey books. Maybe it's time to start over, since I do own 99% of them.
Off to the gym for some stretching and whatnot. Early morning at work. Feel I haven't been slugging my own weight at the shop lately. Brian and Burt have been putting in huge hours...I need to play catch up. Some building on tap for this morning or maybe it's repairs, depends on how many "to be done" yellow loops I see!
Out.
