Man, I've been hitting up night rides this summer more so than any summer previous. At a minimum it's been once a week but usually twice. Definitely getting my monies worth out of my lights.
Last night was a MTB ride with some guys from the shop. Got a bit over 2 hours in at the North Loop. Forgot we had a storm roll through Friday night. Some more trees and debris are over the trail. Overall it's still in pretty good condition. Some lovin will be coming its way soon.
While the ride was a blast we had some hiccups. Kyle's seat broke before we started. He rode a lap standing up! Near the end of the lap my CamelBak snagged a tree and spun me around 180 degrees...nothing hurt or broke! Brian and Kyle busted home after a lap and Matt and I headed out for more. Matt clipped a tree and busted his shifter for his internally geared hup...leaving him with only the easiest gear. Called it a night. I did a bit more before I headed home.
Fun times. With summer coming to an end Kyle will be heading off to college and life at the shop will turn towards winter. I'm going to miss this summer, it's been a fun one.
Had a great time last Tuesday so I'm jumping in again this week. Weather seems to be cooperating. Hopefully the legs do too.
We're having a build party at work after the ride. Last one of the season. Last push to get all 2012 bikes on the floor...or at least built.
Later.
