The Race.

Saturday:  Mike and I spent the morning doing a final run through on his bikes.  I then got base camp set and organized while Mike rested a bit for the noon start.
The first few laps were fast!  Mike was flipping between 3-4th with Cameron Chambers and Tinker Juarez killing it up front.
Sometime through the nigh Mike dropped to 6th.  Online timing was down and I missed the riders coming in before Mike.  I was pissed at myself for missing this.  I was giving Mike bad info to only have to tell him he was in 6th at sunrise when the timing was back up.
Mike had a pretty good head cold and I could tell it was taking it's toll.  Every time he came in he was covered in snot and dust!  Just wanted to give him a big 'ol kiss.
His lower back was tweaked too from the course and clipping a deer at night!  Mike pounded out one last lap in extreme pain to secure his position of 6th.  I was super proud to have been apart of his ride and proud of how he did.
Way to go Mike!

Yeah, that was short and hurried, sorry.

Got out this morning on the Fargo for a2.5 hour ride.  Feels so good to be back on the bike!
Still trying to see if racing cross this Saturday will work.  Hoping it does.  Should be fun!

Later.
