and so it begins.

Ahhh....the Holidaze are upon us.  Running a business, having three young girls, and trying to sneak in some ride time makes the next few weeks a blur.  Already the scheduling of parties has begun along with figuring out when and where Christmas will be at my folks, Jen's folks, and beyond....blah.  While I love our families sometimes it feels it would be easier to live a few states away and just stay home!  Ah, but I know: the grass is always greener.

The Tuscobia is going down on December 28th which turns out is tossing a nice sized monkey wrench into our holiday planning.  Doesn't help with Jen's dislike of my racing.  She already feels I race a lot, which I don't.  Yes I ride a lot but not race a lot.  Less than a dozen times a year.

Speaking of racing, next Saturday is the MN Cyclocross State Championships.  It'll be about a month since I've done a cross race.  While I'm excited for the event I've mentally and physically moved on to much slower and longer rides.  It's gonna hurt a lot more than normal!  I'm just racing single speed then booging home for our BMX Teams year end party.

Before work yesterday I got out on the single speed Monster Cross Check for almost 3 hours.  It wasn't too cold but the wind made it feel cold and hard.  At times I was standing up, grinding the gear on flat ground.  Not sure why but I really enjoy this time of year.  Overcast skies, barren fields, and the absence of others is, I guess, peaceful to me.

Monday Night Lights is back on after a rest week last week.  7:00 pm at the North Loop.  Bring it.

Later.
