Randomness.

Well let's see...

Monday: Gym day...Elliptical, Kettle Bells, Squats, and Stair Stepper.  Whoa! Crazy I know!

Tuesday: Early meeting so an hour on the trainer with some intervals tossed in.  Meaning a good song I rode too fast and hard.  Junk training...works for me.

Today: Work at noon and planned a ski, but my mother-in law is coming to watch the kids, etc.  Off to St. Joe Park-n-Ride for some fat bike action.  It's frigid out there this morning.

Speaking of frigid I was asked to talk about my cold weather gear and what works for me.  Ask my wife, I like gear, but I really end up going back to the same stuff.
  • Ibex s/s wool base layer
  • Smartwool lw l/s base layer
  • Ibex wool jersey
  • This next layer varies on how cold it is.  Have an Empire Wool and Canvas top, the Grey Wolf, that is amazingly warm.  My favorite piece.  Otherwise, I'll use another Ibex wool (thicker) jersey or a Outdoor Research Gor-tex Paclite piece.  I like it but Gor-tex doesn't really breathe too well.
  • Bottoms vary too but more times than not I wear: bibs, Craft Storm bib tights, CEP winter compression socks with Smartwool Hunting socks over.
  • 45North Wolvhammer boots.
  • Hands I use liner gloves stuffed into my Dogwood Pogies.
  • I carry handwarmers always...never know.
  • Neck gaiter...always.  Have different thicknesses.  Headband more times than a hat.  Let the head breathe.
That's it.

This Sunday is the start of the Iditarod Trail Invitational (ITI).  I, half jokingly, tossed out on social media that I was look for sponsors to help me make it there next year.  It's expensive.  I've actually got some responses.  Hmmmm!

Later.
