Dirt Bag Recon.

I work this Saturday so I had yesterday off...Ride Day!  With the Dirt Bag coming up this Sunday I figured I should ride the course one more time to check on the conditions and such.  The wind agreed and greeted me with a strong S/SE wind, uff.

The course is currently 90% "hero" gravel.  Really a road bike with 700x28 tires would work just fine.  The other 10% is the more "typical" type of gravel.  Depending on the wind on Sunday the Delwood Road may be the hardest.  There isn't much of a good line and it pretty exposed.  But overall it should be a wicked fast day.  Not only because the conditions but because of the riders I know that are showing up!  We'll have to see how I feel both mentally and physically on Sunday.  I'll start out with the fast dudes but I may trim it back some.  It's always hard for me to push it super hard for October/November.  I think mostly this is due to me thinking it's LSD (Long Slow Distance) season!

Couple my state of mind with the fact I rode 7 hours (121 miles) yesterday I may not be able to ride "fast" even if I want too!  Ha!
Hoping to get a short mountain bike ride in tonight.  Toying with getting up earlier on Saturday to get a short ride in before work but maybe sleep is better.  Time will tell.

Happy Weekend...Ride a Bike.
