Not the week of riding I had planned in my head but it ended up being just fine. Missed riding the first 3 days, rode 3 days, then off Sunday.
Friday afternoon I got out on the dirt! It's been a bit over a week since I've been on the mountain bike due to rain. I've yet to tire of the North Loop! Many must have the same feeling as the place was hopping!
Saturday I was up early on the bike before 6. It's funny how that is standard during the summer but not that it's dark it seems to be a bigger deal. It was also the first frozen finger ride of the season. It's tricky to dress when you start out in the lower 40's but finish in the upper 60's.
Once again I did a combination of Dirt Bag routes. Really there isn't a better route when it's a S/SE wind. I was set on riding the Evergreen at the Spotted Horse Ultra but the more I ride the Cutthroat the more I question which bike I should ride!
FYI...it's still a bit less than 2 weeks out but the Dirt Bag course is 90% Hero Gravel...at the moment.
Managed 14.5 hours and 235 miles. I packed a bike when we went down the the cities for a wedding and a Twins game. I thought about riding home on Sunday afternoon/evening from Coon Rapids. But the game was delayed and the train is slow so we didn't get back to Coon Rapids till almost 7. I brought lights, etc but I wasn't feeling the needed 4 hours to get home. Plus it was crazy windy and off and on raining (yes excuses).
Like last week the first few days of this week look to be pretty wet. I'm not looking for any big rides just an hour here and there. Today looks to be out but that works out for the best as it's one of our busiest nights at home. Currently Tuesday afternoon looks sunny!
Happy Week.
