Sheesh...3 days off the bike this week felt like and eternity! Maybe because I planned to ride a couple of those days but couldn't, not sure. Nonetheless I was finally able to get back out yesterday for a nice ride.
I have the Spotted Horse Ultra in a week and I've been thinking I want to ride the Cutthroat. I'm guessing it's a bit lighter than my titanium Evergreen and a bit more comfortable. Comfortable in that it's more of an all day bike than a race bike. However after only having two rides on it I don't think I am ready to ride it for 200 miles. I may change my mind but right now I'm thinking the Evergreen will be my bike for this race.
Despite this I love the Cutthroat. Definitely an all day bike that begs to find the "bad" line and crush it. I rode the sandy roads of Morrison County yesterday with ease. Of course tire selection makes a huge deal. I'm running WTB Riddlers, 700x45. It came with mountain bike tires. I'm excited to find some gnarly roads that require the use of 2.1" tires!
I've also added some Siren Fred bars to use with aero bars. Yeah, yeah aero bars. I use them not to get aero but rather have another riding position to switch things up. So comfy!
We have a fairly busy weekend ahead. A wedding tomorrow and an extended family Twins game on Sunday. Both should be fun. The wedding isn't till 4 so I'll get a morning ride in but Sunday looks like rain so not too sure on that day. We will be at Jen's folk's house so I thought about hitting up Elm Creek but that closes pretty readily with rain. Thinking I may try to bike home from Coon Rapids after the Twins game. Time will tell.
Happy Weekend.
