Riding to shake the funkiness.

Yesterday I was a bit flustered at work.  Not sure why but I was, putting riding on the back burner.  I really just wanted to plop by butt on the couch but I knew a ride would shake the funkiness out of me.  I didn't even allow myself to sit down once at home as that may have been the death of a ride!

I actually really wanted to ride.  The temperature was in the mid 40's, overcast, but little wind.  The wind there was wasn't out of the NW either!  I haven't been on the Dirt Bag course in a long time so that was the route.  Just how long was to be determined by my attitude.

About an hour in things started clicking and I was in my groove.  The Dirt Bag course was in good shape and the wind didn't reduce me to a crawl as all of last week did.  I was having fun!

Look at the water!  No white caps!

At the intersection to continue south and end with over 110 miles or head back towards home I chose home to avoid a super late night.  Not that I can "fly" on the Cutthroat but I sure felt much faster on it than I had on previous (windy and soft gravel) rides.  It truly was one of those rides that I wanted to keep going but late rides means I can't fall asleep very well and then I'm tired and the snowball effect starts in for the rest of the week.  Yep, I'm much better with sleep!

The ride ended up being more than I thought but all was good.

Currently it's 6:00 am.  Hope to be on the bike at 6:30 for a couple hours before work.  I should ride more in the morning.  It's nice to get home from work and be done with the day.  I'm anxiously awaiting warmer temps in the mornings.

Downhill to the weekend.
