It was mostly an east wind with some SE as well. I ended up going north a bit, not much, to get to gravel that seemingly heads east for ever. Benton, Mille Lacs, and Isanti counties. The wind wasn't too bad, in the single digits for a change. A benefit of starting later is I wasn't overdressed at any point. The mornings are still pretty chilly.
I have been having knee issues on the Cutthroat. Nothing crazy but enough that it made me play with my position, not something I do much off. Happy to report it's much better! I felt really good on the bike yesterday.
An issue with riding east is I eventually encounter some major roads. Highway 169 and 47 are the biggest. If I keep going 35 pops up as well. Finding points to cross can sometimes be a challenge. More so on 169. Upon making the turn south and eventually west for home I wanted to avoid Princeton. I went south a good stretch before heading west. But much like the Holdinford the roads kept pushing me towards Princeton. I didn't get lost but definitely got turned around. A few times I felt like I was going south but actually was going east. A few road closures didn't help. I stopped fighting it and accepted my fate! Once through Princeton I take the same route home, a great paved road. This time I wanted something different so I went a bit north of 95 and took gravel most of the way home.
A good ride.
The Ride.
Like Wednesday I hope to be on the bike by 6:30 for a couple hours this morning to spin the legs before work. Man do I love having riding done before work. I love riding but when I'm done with work I'm ready for the couch and not the saddle.
Have a great weekend.
