More Miles on the Cutthroat.

It lightly rained overnight Wednesday into Thursday.  We desperately needed the rain so it was welcomed.  The roads were still wet in the morning, giving me time to be lazy before heading out on a ride.  Sometime around 8:30 I was off on the Cutthroat.  Despite the prevailing westerlies it's rare to have a straight west wind.  Yesterday we did.  I hate going on the same part of a route that I've already traveled so I headed down County Road 8 (SE) first then made my way west.  I did a few more stints south before I made a long push west.

I was excited to go west as I don't go that way very often.  I was quickly reminded why.  That part of Stearns County is farm country.  No place to hide from the wind.  The roads are mostly laid out in a grid pattern so not much deviation from going straight.  Nonetheless it was still fun.  When I came upon Paynesville I decided to start heading north some and eventually back home.  Tailwind!

Straight.

The temperature was in the low 70's.  I haven't had to stop yet this year for more fluids.  I was running low with a good distance to home yet.  I spotted the water tower of St. Martin and made my way there.  The first Coke of the season was delicious!

The ride.

Back home I pounded some fluids, showered, and started making dinner.  I was feeling pretty good, although the left knee was a bit sore on stairs.  It seems good now.

Off for a quick spin before work on the Moots.  Going to be an all road ride but not on the road bike.  I've yet to use that yet this year.  Anyone want to buy a Seven road bike?

Happy Weekend.
